Cleopatra VII, ( 51 - 30 BC ) or Cleopatra the 7th, who considered herself as Egyptian, although she has descended from a Greek origins. And as the last of the Ptolemaist, Cleopatra and Mark Anthony ruled 14 years. Roman King was seduced by her. Julius Cesar, the Roman Empire was made about his love to the Pretty Queen and his failure in finishing his mission. Rome Empire decided to send another warrior to replace them; the choice is made for the mighty Octavian (Emperor Augustus), whom Cleopatra also tried to seduce. He was not weak like Julius Cesar, he did not react to the pretty of the Queen, concentrating only on his mission to defeat Julius Cesar and Cleopatra, which made the Queen with no hope for victory, and suicide by a snake bite. Alexandria became equal to Rome in retying. Thanks to its famous library. It was like a University for all surrounding area and its Science and knowledge seekers. It was also home to the Pharos Lighthouse, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the Cata Combs, Amphitheater - Greco roman Arena - national Museum, Quait bey Fort, Monatazah Palace & the Pombey`s Pillar Through the centuries many unfortunate catastrophes contributed to Alexandria's decline. Earthquakes destroyed its monuments, the plague in the 17th century nearly wiped out its population and constant foreign invasions weakened its economy. Also one of Rome Emperors has killed many of its citizens after their revolution against him after he killed his brother and asked for higher Taxes for Salt. The new re-builder of Alexandria is the great ruler of Egypt in its modern Era, Mohamed Ali pasha, who re-designed the City to its old design of Greeks.
